In July and August, bookings run from Saturday to Saturday and the period of stay is weekly.
In May, June and September the minimum length of stay is 3 nights, any day of the week.
We can usually supply an extra single bed for a 20£ surcharge for the duration of your stay. And please be in touch about cots and highchairs.
Check in is at any time after 4pm
Check out is before 10am (but we can be flexible on this if no other guests are arriving that day)
Pets and livestock live on our property - five dogs, a donkey and 250 sheep. This is why it is not suitable for your pets. Sorry for the inconvenience, but hopefully you can make friends with ours.
Most of the land on the property is farmed by Victor, a Belgium shepherd. He has a n Alpine mountain dog, Rocca, who guards the flock against any potential rustling or wolf attack. She takes her job seriously and barks at anyone whom she perceives as a threat. Please don’t pay her any attention or approach her and her flock, as she is not a pet and may attack if she feels threatened.
There is wifi at La Lavande but currently no internet at Porcherat. There is phone signal and data coverage on most of the property. There is no television in either property.
To secure your booking, we ask you to pay 20% of the total cost of your stay upfront and the remaining balance one month prior to arrival. Alongside this, like with many holiday places, you are expected to treat the property and homes with respect. This is why we operate a breakages deposit of £150, which we ask you to pay with the remaining balance one month prior to arrival. This will of course be refunded in full at the end of your stay (so long as there are no deductions to be made). We accept cheques addressed to ‘Robin Handley’ and sent to ‘Le Vignaud, St Michel Léparon, 24490, La Roche-Chalais, France’. Alternatively, you can pay by bank transfer. Please message us for bank account details.
No smoking indoors and respect the privacy and tranquility of others.
Please ensure your children are supervised when swimming in the lake. We ask that our guests sign a waiver on arrival to accept full responsibility for use of the facilities and swimming in the unsupervised lake.
The 20% holding fee at the time of booking is nonrefundable.
Once you have paid the balance in full one month before the beginning of your stay, you will only be refunded your £150 breakages deposit.
If you are no longer able to make the dates of your booking due to Covid-related travel restrictions and let us know at least 1 month before your stay, we will try to move your booking to another week the same year or the year after, depending on availability.
